That bad person with the long URL made your guestbook ugly! But that wasn't my point. And I forget what my point was...

Hey, I came to your site because I saw the new banner (which judging from a couple of other entries seems to be quite popular). I think it's hilarious and definitely agree with you about "Gladiator" and the Academy Awards in general. I can't believe that Russel Crowe was even nominated for his role in that, I mean don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the guy, but he really didn't act in that movie so much as stand there looking surly and grunting occassionally. An interesting tidbit that might make you feel a little better: my stepdad used to work in the fax room at Creative Artists Agency, and he tells me that he was constantly being asked to send and recieve faxes of revised and re-edited versions of the script for "Gladiator" to and from the shooting location *after the filming had already begun*. So, they actually began filming before they had a fully completed script to work from, even though that's always the first thing they tell you *not* to do when you take a screenwriting class. I guess that would explain why half the movie didn't even make any fucking sense whatsoever.
Anyway, I hear Russel did better this year (even though that piece of crap he was in was directed by Ron Howard, who is Satan incarnate) but I'm glad he didn't win. The way I figure it, it kind of evens out since last year he sucked cock and won an Oscar, and this year he did a decent job and got shit.
I hope you're not offended by people cussing in your guestbook...

don't know who the hell jim is but your new banner is great. I surfed right on in. (Of course it was mostly because of the part where you said "everyone sucked" but hey . . whatever works right?). Great entry about the suckiness of the academy! Bloody pratts all of them. True morons. ^_^ Great layout too!

I agree with almost all you say, although I liked Moulin Rouge. I think Russel Crowe is vastly overrated in the two movies he was nominated for. Almost all the nominees for best actor were a joke. But still, Crowe deserved it 1000 times more then Washington, and i didn't even think Crowes performance was close to the best. Why wasn't Pearce nominated? Why did a movie that wasn't nominated for any technical, or cinematic achievement awards (Training Day)have a nominee for best actor, and best supporting actor? So many valid questions. So little time for idiots to listen. Gladiator made me sick. Almost everybody disagrees with me. I'm glad you don't. I was shocked that he was nominated for that, let alone victorious. And the movie was horrible. It wasn't even written well. The fighting scenes were the only thing that made it even watchable for me. But what do i know?

hello Jim, in response to your diary entry about the Oscars, I advise you to visit Salon.com ((http://salon.com/ent/movies/feature/2002/03/25/oscars_2002/index.html)) It was my point of view exactly, and most likely yours too!
Ciao!

The beatles=fantastic. You are correct there.
The Royal Tenenbaums=Very good, but not quite as good as Rushmore. Maybe that's just because it was there first.
That's everything I learnt about you in two entries, and I'll be back later to read more. Now, though, my little brother wants to get on the computer, so I must go.

I really, really look up to John Forbes Nash Jr. He has overcome so much, and that movie told only a small amount of his life. Schizophrenia is a really horrendous mental condition, it's even harder to conquer, and live with. I have schizophrenic tendencies, I have only a small idea of how hard it is. He has given so much to this world with his mathematical genius, and shared his pain with us too. We should only be grateful.
